Passport - you must have a valid US or other country passport to enter and leave Colombia immigration. With your passport, you can stay for 90 days and easily get a renewal prior to expiration for another 90 days. This is an annual requirement. What that means is you have up to 180 days each calendar year. So if you arrive let´s say in July you can stay until December, leave the country for a day or so (to Panama or Ecuador for example) and then come back for another 180 days in January until June.
Flights - The airlines are constantly changing, adding and deleting flights so it is difficult to give you specifics. One of the best routes is with COPA, a very good airline, through Panama City, Panama then non-stop to Pereira International Airport which is about 1.5 hour drive from Manizales. American Airlines had non-stops from Miami to Pereira but these are currently not available. Armenia which is about 2.5 hours from Manizales has some non-stop flights on Spirit from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We suggest flying into Bogota, Medellin, Cali or Cartagena for a few days before and after Manizales. From these cities you can fly to Manizales or take a bus or van service which are super and inexpensive.
Hotels - Manizales has many hotels in all price ranges and comforts including glamping and hostels. See our Directory. Some are offering ProManizales.com DISCOUNTS.
